Preventing the spread of Covid-19
Ashbee Home Care will be implementing the following procedures in order to minimise the spread of COVID-19;
- All carers will be supplied with a disposable face mask, disposable apron, hand sanitiser and a personal stock of alcohol spray.
- All carers should wear gloves and masks when entering client’s houses including communal areas.
- Hands will be washed for 20 seconds using soap and water on entry to homes.
- Clean gloves, mask and apron will then be put back on by carers for the duration of personal care tasks.
- Before vacating client’s homes, carers will wash their hands with soap and water again, before putting new gloves and mask back on.
- Carers will ensure that all bins are emptied and that no PPE will be left inside client’s homes
Between client visits, carers will use hand sanitiser supplied by Ashbee Home Care
- All surfaces touched by client’s and carers will be disinfected regularly by care staff and this will be documented within client care plans
- Carers will disinfect steering wheels, mobile phones and car door handles with alcohol spray, supplied by Ashbee Home Care
- Carers will ensure they wash their uniforms daily at a minimum temperature 40 degrees
